Provisional suspension stands for Yadav
Thursday, 14 October 2010

In accordance with the CGF Anti-Doping Standard (ADS) for the XIX Commonwealth Games, the CGF’s Federation Court conducted a Provisional Hearing this afternoon to consider an adverse analytical finding resulting from a random test of Indian athlete, Ms Rani Yadav, after the women’s 20 kilometre walk on October 9.

The athlete’s A sample tested positive for the substance 19-Norandrosterone, a prohibited Anabolic Agent under category S1 of the WADA List of Prohibited Substances and Methods.

As provided for in the ADS, Ms Yadav has asked for the B sample to be tested.

That result is expected within 48 hours from the time of the request.

The hearing ruled that Ms Yaday remains provisionally suspended from the Games pending the outcome of the B Sample result, following which a further hearing will be scheduled.
