Malaysian player's participation nullified
Friday, 15 October 2010
Malaysian Rugby Sevens player, Mohamad Amin Jamaluddin, returned an adverse analytical finding from an in-competition test conducted on October 12, 2010.
Mr Jamaluddin, who tested positive for cannabis, a prohibited substance under the WADA Prohibited List, has accepted the findings and waived his right to having his “B” sample analysed.
The CGF’s Federation Court has ruled that Mr Jamaluddin’s participation in the Malaysian Rugby Sevens Team at the Games in Delhi be nullified.
In accordance with the CGF’s Anti-Doping Standards (ADS), the participation and results of the Malaysian Rugby Sevens team are not affected as only one member returned an anti-doping rule violation result.
The matter has now been forwarded to the International Rugby Board for further action as it sees fit.
